Design With Maqstone

Through cuts and intersections of primary geometries — requiring both a high level of technical precision and artisanal sensitivity — the collection imprints a new tactile, functional, and architectural language onto soapstone, a material historically embedded in Brazilian artistic production.
The furniture series was exhibited in 2025 as part of the curatorial program by Galerie Philia at Niterói Contemporary Art Museum. Through the unmistakable structural curves that established Oscar Niemeyer as one of the leading figures of modern architecture, the building emerges as an inseparable element of Rio de Janeiro’s landscape. Similarly, the narrative of Then and Now – Brazilian Legacy articulates different temporalities within Brazilian design, revealing the continuous thread of avant-garde thinking and excellence that connects modern and contemporary production.
